
On the auspicious occasion of 74th Anniversary of Independence Day on 4th January 2022, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing extended greetings to the national people residing in the Union of Myanmar to be good health, happiness and prosperity.
With the Union Spirit, ethnic national brethren fought the colonialists and struggled for the national independence after sacrificing their lives, blood and sweat. It lasted many years in the struggle to regain national independence after sacrificing many lives although it took only days or months for losing the national independence.
The nation regained its independence and sovereignty in 1948. As there is no greater loss in a country than the loss of independence, all citizens are fully responsible to maintain perpetual existence of sovereignty of the State.
After taking lessons from bitter experience of evil legacy of colonialism, the Prime Minister urged all national brethren to keep up their efforts in serving the interest of the state while being aware of unfair instigations and pressures from outside.
For the emergence of a federal Union, the mutual respect, understanding and trust must be built among the union ethnic nationals, based on a genuine, discipline-flourishing, multi-party democracy.
In order to achieve eternal peace and harmonious development in the entireUnion, ethnic nationals should implement all sectors in unity. He also reiterated that the SAC government is implementing for the prosperity and food sufficiency as the national development program.
The prosperity of the state includes stability and tranquility of the nation, national solidarity and improvement of socio-economic life of the people. For the stability and tranquility of the State, the political system that is being practiced and to be practiced by the state and the political culture need to be harmonized.
For that, the government is making extensive discussion with the relevant political parties. It is also cooperating with the people to effectively prevent the destructive acts of NUG and PDF terrorist groups, affecting to peace, stability and security of the people.The national races should aware of neocolonialists and their continual manipulation to Myanmar as they want to create discords among the national brethren so that they could keep up their control and influence to the nation and the people.
In his message, the Prime Minister pointed out that over 70 percent of the population resides in the rural areas and the main livelihood is agriculture and livestock breeding. So far, the SAC is emphasizing food sufficiency for the socio-economic development of the people.
The development program must be implemented pragmatically while overcoming the challenges of COVID-19. In line with “Today is the Knowledge Age”, the education plays a key role for the national development. The State building and the nation building based on education could implement development.
According to the section 366 of 2008 Constitution, every citizen has the right to education and they shall be given basic education which the Union prescribes by law as compulsory. In the conclusion, the Prime Minister urged entire ethnic people to cherish and the national independence by taking lessons from the past that our forefathers who lived in slavery due to disunity because of the lack of a strong and standing army in the history.
The Prime Minister then called for the new generation to serve the interest of the state as much as they could after realizing the value of freedom that they have gained in implementing the future work programs of the state according to the objectives of 74th Anniversary of Independence Day: All ethnic nationals to safeguard non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national unity, and perpetuation of sovereignty; To ensure the emergence of a good and clean government and administrative system by implementing a genuine disciplined democracy; All ethnic nationals to amicably and unitedly cooperate in the country development based on the genuine Union spirit; To strive for restoring perpetual peace the entire people aspire.
