Projects implementation in Myanmar under the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund was launched with a ceremony on Wednesday.
In the ceremony at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Union Minister Dr. Aung Thu stressed that the projects are to reduce development gap and assist the establishment of the ASEAN community, to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN and to boost cooperation among the developing countries.
Chinese Ambassador and many other senior officials explained about work plans for Mekong-Lancang Cooperation projects between Myanmar and China, successful implementation of 5 projects under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (the first phase) and 12 projects under the second phase.
Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund of 300 million USD was established by China for development projects - Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is conducting the agriculture and poverty reduction schemes as a focal ministry.
