





Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held a meeting with Region and State Chief Ministers and officials at the Yangon Region Government Office on Sunday.
The Chief Minister provided update reports on development works including agriculture and livestock sector, manufacturing and MSME businesses, production at the industrial zones, efforts for progress of health, education and tourism industry, preparation for successful conducting of population and housing census and ensuring peace and stability.
The Union Minister and Deputy Ministers made elaboration for repair of roads and bridges that have been damaged during monsoon, supply of quality crop species, land reclamation, systematic use of pesticides, efficient utilization of irrigated water, providing agricultural awareness to the farmers, assisting paddy species for inundated fields, livestock development, extended breeding of poultry and human resource development for agriculture and livestock sectors.
The Prime Minister discussed the need to implement for proper drainage system in order to reduce inundation, emphasizing the need to follow the Highways Law to meet the standards of road characteristics. Regarding the land utilization, the Prime Minister stressed to abide by the law, seeking permission for alternate use of farmland in order not to harm the agricultural productions due to decline in farmland areas.
Concerning the library development efforts, the Prime Minister highlighted that 2019 interim census revealed about 92% literacy rate in the country, and most of them only completed the primary education. He stressed the importance of creating learning environ for them by establishing libraries to expand their knowledge.
The Prime Minister also discussed matters for economic development of the country, achieving peace and stability, industrial development based on agriculture and livestock sector, boosting production, food sufficiency, price stability of consumer goods, producing import substitution goods and education promotion efforts.
The Prime Minister reiterated that efforts are being made for holding a free and fair election based on the data from upcoming population and housing census. He called for participation of all concerned personnel in conducting census, serving for the interest of the nation and its people.
