Meeting with Officials from Two Regions: President met with officials from Yangon and Bago regions

The President U Min Aung Hlaing, met with government officials from Yangon Region and Bago Region, as well as responsible departmental officials at the region, district, and township levels, at the Mingala Hall of the Yangon Region Government Office Tuesday afternoon, where he delivered a speech.

First, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu presented on the implementation of directives previously issued by the President during his inspection visits to Yangon Region, as well as on ongoing regional development projects. Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win then presented on matters related to regional development.

Afterward, the President delivered his remarks. He noted that Yangon Region and Bago Region are among the six major economically strong regions of the country, where MSME production enterprises based on agriculture and livestock, as well as industrial zone manufacturing operations, are being carried out, with products being exported to both domestic and international markets.

He stated that his economic policy principle is that if products are of the same kind, the price should be lower; if the price is the same, the quality should be better. The President then emphasized that accurate baseline statistical data is crucial for implementing measures to strengthen the national economy.

He called for systematic verification and reporting of baseline production statistics related to agriculture and livestock being implemented at the region and state levels. He also stressed the need for stability and peace in the regions to ensure accurate collection of ground-level data.

He further urged collective efforts to address educational deficiencies, improve public healthcare services, systematically and beneficially manage land use, prioritize regional food self-sufficiency, and, since Yangon Region and Bago Region already possess strong economic foundations and favorable agricultural and livestock conditions, to work together for the socio-economic development of both the regions and the nation.
