Meeting of Central Body: MOHA Union Minister gave opening remark

The Central Body for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons held the 1/2023 meeting at the Areindama Hall of Myanmar Police Force Head Office in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on Monday and was attended by the members of Central Body led by the member of State Administration Council, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Body including members who attended the meeting through online and the departmental officials.

In his opening remark, the SAC member Chairman of the Central Body for Suppression of Trafficking in Persons Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said that the tasks on the suppression of trafficking in persons are being implemented as a national duty and the relevant ministries and the organizations need to carry out as the respective work committees by engaging with the people to the ward and Village level, and it requires to assess the changing patterns of human trafficking and implement with the suitable approaches.

Under the current situations of the country, there are instigations affecting political instability by abusing information technologies including social network media, the offenders appear to commit the offences including human trafficking via online, currently Myanmar is encountering forced labour in the cases of online scam, it’s needed to address the intervention and control as the foreigners involve in the offences.

Next, the central body members suggested regarding with the implementations on the suppression of trafficking in persons and conducted reviewed discussions and the SAC member Chairman of Central Body gave a speech of conclusion.
