Mechanized Farming: Collective monsoon paddy cultivation in Thanatpin

Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win visited Phaye Village in Thanatpin Township on July 11 to observe a collective monsoon paddy cultivation activity using locally manufactured and distributed agricultural machinery.

During the visit, the Chief Minister met with local farmers and encouraged the use of organic fertilizer, reducing chemical fertilizer use. He also stressed for cultivation of beans and pulses as intercrops, and the use of quality seeds to improve crop yields.

The Chief Minister also presented farming inputs to local farmers before observing the cultivation of Yezin Pawsan-1 paddy species, using hand-held rice transplanters, engine-powered seeders, and paddy transplanters produced in the region.
