Malaysia, Australia commit to food, energy security amid global conflicts

Malaysia and Australia had reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding regional food and energy security, deepening cooperation in key sectors, including the red meat trade. During his arrival in Malaysia, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said both countries are working closely to strengthen supply resilience and shield their citizens from the worst impacts of global disruptions.

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that his country will priorities fuel supplies to Australia once domestic needs were met. The visit saw the formalization of a partnership on red meat processing and trade as well as the aim to support Australian fuel security.
