Lunar New Year fireworks and lanterns in Shanghai draw crowds

Shanghai’s annual Yuyuan Lantern Festival is one of the city’s signature Lunar New Year attractions. Lanterns light up Yu Garden and surrounding historic streets with elaborate displays themed around the Year of the Horse. Visitors and tourists gather in the evenings to stroll under glowing lanterns, take photos and soak up the festive spirit.
