Livestock & Agriculture: Union Minister Makes Inspections In Mandalay Region

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo stressed the importance of animal foods research during his inspection of a goat farm in NyaungZauk Village of Meikhtila Township in Mandalay Region. There, he also heard reports on the farm, land use and irrigation for the farm.

In his response, the Union Minister called for efforts for better research and irrigation system as well as the use of rainy water. He also inspected renovation of the lakes and gave necessary instructions. The Union Minister continued his inspection trip to Kyet Mauk Taung Dam, inspected the irrigation system for farmlands and gave instructions for paddy and cotton plantations.

Also, the Union Minister visited Sel Pauk Plantation in Nyaung-U Township, inspected agricultural awareness programmes and seedling production, and called for acceleration of research not only for grape.
