Lincoln memorial centennial honors temple's impact

This coming May 30 will be marked as 100 years since the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial.

Special events and programs are being held this month to honor the 16th U.S. president and the neoclassical temple dedicated to him.

The Lincoln Memorial is open 24/7 and is the most visited memorial in the nation's capital with more than 8 million people seeing the temple each year.
