At least 12 killed in Northwest Pakistan’s Car bomb attack

Pakistani Police said on Sunday that a suicide car bomb attack on a police checkpoint in the country’s northwestern region has resulted in a high death toll, killing at least 12.

Authorities reported that the attack is responsible for a jihadist alliance known as Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen. This attack is also part of a surge in jihadist violence in Pakistan's border regions, contributing to strained relations between Pakistan and the Afghan government.
