Lattern contest celebrates mid-autumn traditions

Thirteen teams took part in the Mid-Autumn lantern model contest and parade, held at the square and surrounding area of Son Tay Ancient Fortress in Hà Nội, Saturday evening.

Using familiar materials, residents created elaborate lantern models featuring carp, chickens, swans, star lanterns and rotating lanterns. Local landmarks such as the ancient Duong Lam village gate and Kim Quy tortoise at Va Temple were also featured. More activities are expected through 26 September as part of the festival.
