








Discussion on utilization of lands in line with the Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Lands Management Law for grapes cultivation was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on the 19th of September.
During the discussion, Deputy Minister Dr Tin Htut said applicants for land utilization rights over vacant, fallow, and virgin lands are encouraged to apply only for the amount of land they can manage effectively. He added that though land permit is allowed 4-year to implement the project, it is necessary to complete cultivation within 3-year period as grapes can generate income three years after cultivation.
He also said that respective departments will provide assistance in line with the rules and regulations for grapes cultivation if needed. Then the Directors-General from departments of Settlement and Land Record, and Agriculture, madeĀ clarification on the location of Grape Cultivation Zone, the status of lands in respective townships, cultivated cost per acre and needs for investment. The Deputy Minister coordinated the needs reported by officials from Companies.
