



A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe returned back to Yangon on 28th January after attending the Global Labour Market Conference 2026, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The respective conference was held with the aim of tackling the issues which are being faced by labourers world wide and to establish better job opportunities in the future. The first part of the conference was inaugurated by the Minister for Human Resourcs and Social Development Ministry of Saudi Arabia at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh on 26th January.
During the round-table talks held under the title, “From Policy to Practice: Opening Immediate Pathways to Work Amid Rapid Change”, Union Minister U Aung Kyaw Hoe stated that the conference was first held in 2023 for the readiness of technology for the youths and during the conference in 2025, (8) work implementations were submitted.
He added that for the developing countries, establishing future plans is not the only challenge and there is a need to be practically responsive to the developing automatic systems, climate changes and economic pressures. The (4) areas such as Informal to Formal Sector, National Skills Standards Authority-NSSA and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Compatible Labour Markets and Digital Literacy are being prioritized.
After that, the documentary group photo was taken. Then, the Myanmar delegation attended the opening ceremony of the Conference at King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in Riyad. In the evening, the Union Minister attended the cultural show and dinner. On 27th January, the Union Minister met with General Supervisory Executive for Domestic Services Sector and discussed the matters on labour sector of the two countries. Next, the Myanmar delegation attended the Labour Awards Ceremony.
