Labour Affairs: MOL Union Minister visits factories in Mandalay

On 16 May, Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe inspected medical treatment services for 706 insured workers from CWT Textile Factory and 109 insured workers from Don Pyan Flour Factory in Pyigyitagun Township, Mandalay.

The Union Minister also met with factory workers and Workplace Coordination Committee (WCC) members and emphasized the importance of good employer-employee relations, transparency, mutual trust, and understanding to improve productivity. He coordinated discussions on social security measures, occupational safety and health and dispute resolution.

The Union Minister later visited Kyaw Nyo Myat Company in Amarapura Township to inspect factory operations and meet workers. He also visited Labour offices in Mandalay and discussed accelerating healthcare and financial benefit services provided by the Social Security Board and expanding coverage nationwide. Staff were instructed to follow Civil Service laws, rules, procedures and financial regulations while carrying out ministry activities promptly and accurately.
