Kisorio sets new course record in Beijing

Mathew Kisorio of Kenya won the Beijing Marathon and set a new course record on Sunday. Kisorio broke away in the final 10 kilometers to win in a time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 6 seconds, shaving 10 seconds off the course record set six years ago by Tadese Tola of Ethiopia. His compatriots finished second and third respectively. In the women's race, Sutume Asefa of Ethiopia secured her maiden marathon title, clocking 2 hours, 23 minutes and 31 seconds. Li Zhixuan was second with Mulu Seboka Seyfu of Ethiopia finished third.
