Kenyan motorists and local residents in  Machakos County, just southeast of the capital Nairobi, face severe disruption from flooding caused by heavy rains.

Key highways and sections near the Eastern Bypass were submerged, making them difficult or impossible to pass. Water logging caused long traffic snarl-ups, with vehicles moving very slowly or getting stuck. Some drivers were trapped in flooded areas or forced to reroute, increasing frustration and delays.
