Kathina robe offering: Kachin state CM attended Kathina robe offering ceremony

The annual traditional Kathina robe offering ceremony organized by the state/district and township departments under the leading of the state government was held at 9:30 AM on 5th November at the Myitkhina Township Buddhist Abbot Training School.

First, the congregation led by the Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife Daw Nan Sai, Commander of Northern Command Ma-J Ko Ko Maung, Chief Justice of the state high court and wife, state government members and wives, state advocate general and state/district/township departmental officials observed five precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw of KhemaThiWun monastery and took the Paritta Suttas recited by the members of Sangha.

Then, the chief minister and officials took the sermon from the Sayadaw, offered the offertories to the members of Sangha, shared merits gained and offered ‘Soon’(day meal) to the Sangha.

At the ceremony, 57 offertories trees donated by the departments led by the state government and well wishers were offered to the Sangha and the Kathina robe and offertories trees will be conveyed to the monasteries in the township, it’s reported.
