










The Mathoe-Thingan or Non-Stale Robe Weaving and Offering Ceremony at the Taunggyi Tazaungdaing Festival was held on November 3rd at 5:00 PM on the platform of the Sula Mani Lawka Chantha Pagoda in Taunggyi.
The Mathoe-Thingan weaving ceremony was inaugurated by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and his wife, Commander of East-Command Brigadier General Kyaw Naing Oo and his wife, and State Minister for Natural Resources U Sai Leik.
The State Chief Minister, the Commander, and the State Minister for Security and Border Affairs presented cash awards of honor to the Kinnari, Kinnara, and Toe Nyar dance troupes from the Shan Literature and Culture Association. Subsequently, the State Chief Minister and his wife, the Commander and his wife, and other officials toured the various sacred weaving looms, observing and encouraging the progress of the Mathoe-Thingan or Non-Stale Robe weaving.
On November 4th at 4:00 AM, at the Sula Mani Lawka Chantha Pagoda in Taunggyi, a ceremony led by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung was held to offer the Mathoe-Thingan or Non-Stale Robe to the four Buddha images inside the pagoda.
Following this, the members of Sangha performed the consecration ceremony. The attendees, led by the State Chief Minister, received the Five Precepts, listened to the Paritta suttas and Anumodana discourses, performed the water-pouring ceremony to share the merits, and offered the dawn alms food to the members of Sangha.
Afterwards, they attended the 75th Collective Maha Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony, organized by the Shan State Government, at the Atulamarazein Hsu-Taung-Pyae Buddha Image's City Central Dhamma Hall. There, they performed the water-pouring ceremony to share the merits and offered the midday meal to the members of Sangha, it’s reported.
