Kanbawzathadi palace: Meeting on renovations of Kanbawzathadi palace held

The clarification on the inspection of solidity in Kanbawzathadi palace buildings to be preserved for long term sustainability was held at the Tawwin Hantha Meeting Hall of the Bago Region Government Office on December 9.

First, the Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win said that in the Kanbawzathadi Palace compound which is a landmark of Bago Township, the ruined parts of Myaynan Pyathat hall or Great Audience Hall and Bamarathana Throne hall and the conditions of Myanmar traditional floral arabesques were inspected. To renovate and preserve them, a board of palace buildings inspection and preservation comprised of departmental officials and civil archeologists was formed in October.

The first meeting of the board was held in November.  Now, this second meeting is invited to carry out the renovation works with suggestions of departmental officials and civil archeologists after scrutinizing the reports on the findings of ground inspection carried out by the palace buildings inspection and preservation board and documented detailed facts.

The attendees are requested to discuss collectively and give suggestions regarding the findings of ground inspection on palace buildings.  Next, the Bago Region Special Construction Unit-3 deputy director U Tin Hla clarified the status of inspection on the palace buildings with Power Point presentations and the region ministers, departmental officials and civil archeologists discussed and gave necessary suggestions.

Then, the chief minister instructed to carry out the preservations maintain original works for the palace buildings by allocating exclusive budget in 2022-2023 with the historians, architects and Myanmar traditional artists as per sections systematically, to address the cleaning and greening in the palace compound, grow the shady trees and seasonal flower plants.

Afterward, the chief minister U Myo Swe Win together with region government ministers, regional and district level departmental officials and civil archeologists conducted ground inspection of Myaynan Pyathat hall and Bamarathana Throne hall in the Kanbawzathadi Palace compound.
