








The opening ceremony of Job Fair participated by 18 companies and 11 local and oversea employment agencies was held at Novotel Hotel in Yangon in the morning on Tuesday.
The Union Minister for Labour Dr. Pwint Hsan, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, deputy minister U Win Shein and officials opened the job fair by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and viewed the exhibitions displayed by the participant companies.
After the ceremony, the union minister explained that the ministry of labour is addressing the matters for everyone in the working age to get a decent job, giving skill trainings, to enable to entitle the workers’ rights based on the labour law and supervising the opened 89 Labour exchange offices for job seekers in the districts and townships of regions, states and Nay Pyi Taw Council area etc.
Next, the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein clarified the status of helping job seekers by opening 17 labour exchange offices and turning out the skillful labours.
The job fair jointly is organized by the local companies, local and oversea employment agencies, entrepreneurs, ministry of labour and the Yangon Region government, altogether 68 times of job fairs were organized in the regions and states and 18 companies, 11 local and oversea licensed employment agencies participated in this job fairs with 38 display booths.
After the opening ceremony of job fair, the union minister visited skill training center (Yankin) and inspected lecturing at the welding training course (3/2022) and Air-conditioner installation and repairing training course (3/2022), class rooms, workshops, teaching aids, equipments and manual tools, curriculums and preparation for opening trainings in line with the directives of the Ministry of Health and instructed to open the trainings continuously.
Next, the union minister visited skill training center (North Dagon) and inspected employment contracts to send the workers to abroad, issuing Overseas Worker Identification Card – OWIC, carrying out depositing examination fee by the workers who will go to work in Republic of Korea with EPS system and instructed necessaries, it’s learnt.
