Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will visit the Fukushima Daiichi plant on Sunday. He also plans a meeting of Cabinet ministers next week in order to start releasing treated and diluted water from the plant as soon as possible. The government plans to dilute the treated water to reduce tritium levels. It's to be about one-seventh of the WHO guidelines for drinking water before being released into the sea.

Last month, the IAEA says Japan's water release plan is consistent with international safety standards. More than 10 countries reportedly indicated their support for the plan. Japanese Industry Minister explained to the Fukushima residents to the government's plan to ensure safety and prevent reputational damage.
