Japanese FM in Peru to mark 150 years of relations

Japan's foreign minister on Wednesday met with his Peruvian counterpart, Ana Gervasi, as part of the celebration of 150 years of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The Japanese representatives said both countries are committed to working together on multiple issues including the reform of the UN Security Council. Peru is home to the second largest Japanese community outside Japan, after Brazil, and is regarded as part of the history of the country. Relations were established in 1873.
