Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae said her government were planning to release additional oil from national reserves next month to stabilize supply.

During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday, Takaichi reiterated that the government had been making utmost efforts to procure crude oil from alternative sources through routes other than the Strait of Hormuz. She added that Japan should be able to secure enough oil to last beyond this year.
