Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara Minoru reacted to Iran blockade. US President Donald Trump has announced a US blockade on vessels entering or departing Iranian ports.

This comes after the US and Iran failed to reach an agreement in their peace talks in Pakistan. Trump announced on Sunday that the US Navy will start a blockade on Monday at 10 a.m. US Eastern Time. Trump was confident that the move would be “very effective.”

Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara Minoru said he will refrain from commenting on every remark made by US government officials, including President Trump. He was asked whether Japan might take part in activities such as the removal of mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
