Japan PM says experts to talk in China seafood row

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said on Friday that China had agreed to expert-level talks aimed at addressing on Japanese seafood exporting to China following the release of Fukushima wastewater.

Kishida said he discussed the wastewater row with Chinese President Xi Jinping when they met on Thursday during the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific summit in San Francisco.

During the meeting, they agreed to find a way to resolve the issue through consultation and dialogue in a constructive manner. There will be discussions based on science at the expert level, Kishida added.
