Japan FM: World is at 'turning point in history'

Japan's Foreign Minister on Tuesday said that the world was "at a turning point" as he spoke about the 2023 Diplomacy Bluebook, which aims to provide an overview over foreign affairs and Japan's diplomatic activities over the past year.

Yoshimasa Hayashi said challenges included the increasing frequency with which "China and Russia have been conducting joint actions around Japan". Hayashi said the Japanese government will closely monitor such developments. He also reiterated Japan's commitment to "maintaining and strengthening a free and open international order based on the rule of law".
