Jakarta Civil Servants to Work from Home during ASEAN Summit

The Jakarta Administration has stated that there will be more of 75 percent of employees of the city administration, working from home during the 43rd ASEAN Summit, which will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center from September 5-7.

The policy is also implemented towards all civil servants working in Jakarta from the 21st of August to October 21. Currently, 50 percent of the city administration’s employees are already working from home. The central government has also imposed the same policy towards employees of ministries and state institutions.

However, civil servants who work in public service sector, such as schools and hospitals, are exempted from the policy. There are two goals of the policy, namely fighting air pollution and reducing traffic congestion in the city, especially during the ASEAN Summit.
