Jackson joins Biden at WH to watch confirmation vote

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed 53-47 with three Republican votes, shattering a historic barrier by securing her place as the first Black female Supreme Court justice.

Jackson will take her seat when Justice Stephen Breyer retires this summer. She will be the third Black justice and the sixth woman. At her hearings last month, she told senators she would apply the law “without fear or favor."

Jackson and President Joe Biden will appear together in a White House Rose Garden event on Friday.
