Italian and Canadian PMs meet on G-7 sidelines

The Prime Ministers of Italy and Canada held a bilateral meeting on the margins of the Group of Seven Summit in England on Saturday. This was the first time Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau met in person since Draghi's inauguration. The two leaders spoke about bilateral partnership, the COVID-19 pandemic and relations with China, a note from the Canadian government said. Draghi acknowledged and thanked Trudeau for his apology in the House of Commons for the internment of Italian Canadians during the Second World War, the note said.
