Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently appeared at a Tel Aviv court for his ongoing corruption trial, where he faces serious charges, including bribery, fraud, and breach of public trust across three separate cases.
During his testimony, Netanyahu criticized the State Attorney's Office for not properly reviewing media coverage standards, as part of the prosecution's claim that he received favorable coverage from the Walla news site in exchange for advancing policies benefiting its owner.
Netanyahu argued that he received more negative coverage than other news outlets. He accused the prosecution of negligence, describing their approach as "extreme carelessness." The judges overseeing the case decided that Netanyahu’s testimony would not extend beyond 14 more hearings. Both the prosecution and defense have until Tuesday to respond, and Netanyahu's request to reduce the frequency of the weekly hearings was not granted.
