Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved a deal to acquire new fighter aircraft from the United States, including a squadron of F-35 multi-role stealth jets manufactured by Lockheed Martin and a squadron of F-15IA warplanes produced by Boeing.

The procurement is aimed at strengthening Israel’s air capabilities and maintaining its regional air superiority. The F-35 is a fifth-generation stealth fighter designed for advanced combat operations, while the F-15IA is an upgraded variant tailored to meet Israel’s operational requirements.

The acquisition comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with Israeli leadership emphasizing the importance of maintaining a technological and strategic edge in aerial warfare.
