







Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) approves 14 new projects, which could create more than 3,300 jobs.
The approval was made during the commission meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, chaired by Union Minister and MIC Chairman U Mya Tun Oo. The new investment projects include two foreign investment projects in the industrial sector, six Myanmar citizen investment projects in the industrial sector, two in services, three in electricity and one in housing development.
The projects involve investments of 140.474 million US dollars and about 1.18 trillion kyats and are expected to create 3,336 jobs. As of the end of July 2026, Singapore, China and Hong Kong were the largest sources of investment among 48 countries and regions investing in Myanmar.
The electricity sector accounted for the largest share of total investment at 28.06 percent, followed by oil and natural gas at 20.41 percent and manufacturing at 15.47 percent. The MIC continues to review investment proposals and provide investment-related services to domestic and foreign investors in accordance with the Myanmar Investment Law.
