


The International fish auction market will be constructed with the target completion date within 2028 in Myeik Township, Taninthayi Region, it’s learnt.
For the construction of auction fish market, the application has been submitted and the permit has been granted.
The timeframe work for the construction of project has been estimated for seven years and the coordination works with the relevant departments are being processed.
The project is divided four phases including fish loading and unloading jetty, cold storage, process factories to produce the raw materials into the finished goods, staff housing and related facilities, area to be extended for the project. For the time being, the scrutiny works for the construction of goods transporting road are being processed to ensure not to include the farmlands.
According to the initial negotiations for the construction of International fish auction market, although the construction is estimated to be invested about 300 million USD, it’s being received the suggestions and advices of the relevant departments.
As the fishery sector is the main business in the Taninthayi Region, when the International fish auction market is completed, it will create the job opportunities for the Myanmar workers in fishery sector. In addition, the market of marine resources will exist and the export to the international markets can be operated, it’s reported.
