Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by responsible officials, visited Kyonpyaw Township in Ayeyawady Region on the morning of September 24.

At the office of the Township Head Officer, the Union Minister observed and encouraged the staff who are implementing the third phase of Pan Khin Project to assist local residents whose household registration lists and citizenship scrutiny cards have been damaged or lost, as well as those who have not yet received citizenship scrutiny cards.

Firstly, the Union Minister cordially greeted the local residents who came to obtain household registration lists and citizenship scrutiny cards, inquired about and discussed any operational difficulties, and coordinated with responsible officials to address necessary matters.

Subsequently, the Union Minister reviewed and encouraged the staff as they carried out the procedures step-by-step through a One Stop Service system to issue household registration lists and citizenship scrutiny cards to local residents under the third phase of Pan Khin Project.

He also inspected the situation where individuals who have obtained citizenship scrutiny cards are having their Biographic/Biometric data collected through the e-ID system and are issued a Unique ID number. The Union Minister listened to and facilitated the officials in meeting operational needs. 

Subsequently, the Union Minister inspected the conditions of document and office supplies storage within township office, the systematic maintenance of personnel records in the records room, the status of document reception logs, and household population census data.

The Union Minister reviewed and supervised the verification, correction, and supplementation processes, ensuring the security of documents and equipment. To successfully conduct the elections, priority tasks related to the department were identified, and responsible personnel were instructed to diligently complete these tasks within the specified timeframe. Necessary coordination and supplementation based on reports were carried out, and cash assistance and foodstuff were provided to the staff, it’s learnt.
