





The Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited a textile factory in Paleik Town, Mandalay Region on January 1st and met with the textile manufacturing entrepreneurs in the region.
At the meeting, the union minister said that by operating the factories using the domestic raw materisls, it will be beneficial for the fulfillment of domestic consumption, creating job opportunities for the locals, saving of spending foreign currency as it’s an import substitution.
The harmonious cooperation between the government and private sector will bring the speedy development of industrial sector, when the textile industry becomes developed, it will create job opportunity to all stakeholders in textile sector and their socio-economic status will develop.
So, the high yield cotton seeds should be distributed to the farmers and given them the modernized farming education. The textile manufacturing entrepreneurs are urged to discuss the difficulties facing frankly. Then, the entrepreneurs reported the facing challenges in the operation of industry and the union minister coordinated necessaries and inspected the process of manufacturing textile.
Next, the union minister visited paper mill (Paleik), instructed to conduct the multiplier courses on the technologies and skills and inspected the process of production in the mill. The union minister also inspected no (7) textile mill (Wan Twin) and no (8) textile mill (Yamethin), instructed necessaries and inspected test running of weaving machines to manufacture new product.
