Inspection Tour: Development projects in Mon State

Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Thaik Soe on Friday visited Kawhla Village in Mudon Township of Mon State.

He explained the Smart Village Project being implemented since the 2022–2023 fiscal year and discussed villagers’ development needs. He also inspected completed infrastructure works, including two box culverts, village roads, drainage systems, and road shoulders.

The Deputy Minister later met members of three agricultural cooperative societies in Mudon, encouraging farmers to use quality, affordable fertilizers and follow proper farming methods to increase crop yields and family incomes. He also visited a handloom workshop and shop run by a local small business owner.

At the Weaving and Vocational Training School in Mudon, the Deputy Minister met teachers and trainees, encouraged students attending weaving and textile courses, and viewed their products. In Mawlamyine, the Deputy Minister with staff from four departments under the ministry to coordinate ongoing development work.
