







Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khine Win, accompanied by relevant officials, on the morning of April 9, visited the temporary relocation of Nay Pyi Taw Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Hospital which was temporarily opened at the Gems Museum in Dekhinathiri Township, inspected the hospital and encouraged the patients.
Following this, the Union Minister visited the new temporary operating room which has holding capacity of two operation beds and examined the ongoing surgical procedures, as well as the care being provided to newborn babies. He provided guidance on necessary actions based on the situation observed.
Additionally, within the premises of the temporary hospital, the Union Minister reviewed the vaccination of health ministry and energy ministry staff members and their families, specifically those over the age of 60 and children under 5, who were receiving Oral Cholera Vaccines (OCV).
He coordinated with the responsible officials to address any needs. Later, the Union Minister accompanying officials visited the nursing training school in Nay Pyi Taw, where they observed the conditions of health personnel residing in temporary shelters.
They also assessed the impact of the earthquake on the training school. After that, the Union Minister encouraged the health personnel, discussed necessary actions with the relevant officials, and coordinated further support. In the evening of April 8, the Union Minister, accompanied by officials, visited the 50-bed Hospital in Pobbathiri Township, where they met health personnel and the Sri Lanka Medical Team working in the area to assist earthquake victims.
The Union Minister inspected the health care services being provided to those affected by the earthquake, coordinated with responsible officials to address their needs, and met with the health personnel and the Sri Lanka Medical Team members to offer words of encouragement.
The Union Minister and officials also visited the Indonesian medical team’s temporary clinic set up at the 50-bed Hospital in Ottarathiri Township. They observed how the medical team was providing support to patients in need of crutches and other health care services to the earthquake victims.
Necessary actions were coordinated with the responsible officials, and the Union Minister offered encouragement to the health personnel and the members of the Indonesian medical team.
