






The Kayah State Government is prioritizing the reopening of basic education schools that were previously closed due to security conditions. For the 2026-2027 academic year, efforts are underway to ensure that the schools secured to reopen can accept enrollments and resume operations. Thursday morning, State Chief Minister U Aunt Maw and relevant officials visited Konetha Village and Htee Thuu Koo Village in Loikaw Township to inspect school cleaning activities.
The Chief Minister and officials first arrived at Konetha Basic Education High School. They observed and encouraged a collective cleanup effort involving the State Development Committee, various government departments, and local villagers using both manual labor and machinery.
The Chief Minister toured the school grounds and classrooms, providing necessary guidance to officials to ensure the facilities are ready for students.
Following this, the Chief Minister and officials proceeded to the Basic Education Middle School (Branch) in Htee Thuu Koo . There, they met with teachers, departmental staff, and local residents who were working together to clean the school campus. The Chief Minister coordinated with responsible personnel to address and fulfill the immediate requirements for the school’s reopening, it’s reported.
