







The Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thet Thet Khine together with the officials concerned inspected the monitoring tasks at the Emergency Operation Center regarding currently forming low pressure 91 B Invest on the Bay of Bengal in the morning on 18th March.
During the inspection, the temporary in-charge of the center head of department U Win Htein Kyaw clarified the released of public notice and notifications concerning with the low pressure 91 B Invest by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology and the conditions to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm according to the findings of International Weather Forecast Websites.
Regarding with the clarification, the union minister instructed to closely monitor the conditions of low pressure that can intensify into a cyclonic storm to inform the public timely, the Emergency Operation Center needs to be alert to receive effective data for the emergency responding tasks, the effective and accurate information is key for the preparedness and the preparation works are needed to carry out to share the information.
In the afternoon, the union minister attended the coordination meeting on the implementation of Pilot Volunter Programme regarding with the mitigation of impact caused by the natural disasters and took part in the discussions.
Next, the Volunteer Programmes to be implemented by the disaster management department, department of social welfare and department of rehabilitation were submitted to the meeting and the meeting attendees discussed and gave necessary suggestions.
For the volunteer programs to be implemented by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the recruitment procedures will be carried out by means of applying via Ministry’s Web Page and the relevant sectors will be implemented by the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States.
