Inspection of Power Plant: Union Minister inspected Paung Laung Hygro-power plant

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han accompanied Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Zayya and departmental officials inspected power generating of PaungLaung Hygro-power plant, PaungLaung Dam spillway to be reconstructed and completed implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Control Center in ZayyarthiriTownship, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area in the morning on November 5.

At the PaungLaung Hygro-power plant, the director general of the department of hydropower implementation and the managing director of electric power general enterprise reported work implementation for the generating hydroelectric power and status of water flow into the dam and water spilling over and annual power generation.

Regarding with the reports, the union minister gave necessary guidance to generate electric power from the multi resources including hydro power generating, solar power and natural gas and thermal heat, rapid implementation of spillway, regular maintenance of generators and awareness on the security.

At the AMI Control Center, the union minister and party were clarified by the CEO of Ever Meter Company Limited regarding completed implementation of AMI System and Automatic Billing System.

In connection with the clarification, union minister pointed out the advantages of AMI system included Automatic Meter Reading and Automatic Meter Billing, implementation of shifting from Analogue and Off-site Meter Reading (OMR) to (AMI) system and inspected installing process of AMI Data Server in AMI Control Center and the status of implementing AMI Control and Monitoring Center, it’s learnt.
