







Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, accompanied by Bago Region Social Affairs Minister U Myo Aung, Directors-General, and other officials, visited Bago to inspect educational and healthcare facilities in the afternoon on January 26.
The Union Minister first visited the Bago Midwifery Training School. During his inspection of the campus, he noted that the current school is situated on the moat and walls of the ancient Hanthawaddy city. Consequently, he provided instructions regarding the planned relocation of the school to Kali Village, Bago. His guidance focused on building construction plans at the new site and necessary preparations for the transition.
Following the inspection, the Union Minister met with the principal, teachers, and trainees. He provided instructions to ensure smooth teaching operations and the well-being of the students regarding their accommodation and meals before presenting financial support.
The Union Minister and officials then proceeded to the new 6-story treatment wing (Kali) of the Bago General Hospital. There, he met with Bago Region Health Department Head Dr. Zaw Min Tun, Medical Superintendent Dr. Zaw Lwin, Hospital management members, specialists, and matrons, officials from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Traditional Medicine.
During the meeting, the Head of Region Health Department and the Medical Superintendent reported on the progress made toward launching medical services in the new building. The Union Minister and officials coordinated to fulfill the remaining requirements and provided necessary guidance for the commencement of operations, it’s reported.
