





Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Myint Kyaing, accompanied by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, and region ministers, visited Basic Education and Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock High School No. 2 in Thaketa Township Monday morning to observe and encourage the field implementation of issuing Citizenship Scrutiny Cards and Unique Identification Numbers (UIDs) under the La Min Project for students aged 10 and above who had not yet obtained citizenship scrutiny cards.
During the visit, the Union Minister and officials observed township health staff conducting blood type testing for students. They also reviewed the work of the township-level five-member committee responsible for verifying and processing applications, the issuance of citizenship scrutiny cards to students, and the collection of biographic and biometric data through the e-ID system for individuals who already possessed citizenship cards, enabling them to receive UIDs.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and officials personally presented the citizenship scrutiny cards and UIDs completed on the same day under the La Min Project to individual student recipients. They also provided cash assistance and food supplies to township office staff members, it’s reported.
