







Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi inspected the integrated farm of farmer U Maung Thin in Nyaunglunt Village, Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on the afternoon of September 28. He observed and encouraged the farming activities, which include raising dairy cattle, local cattle, goats, and layer ducks, fish farming, and the cultivation of Aung Naing Toe paddy strain on 81 acres. He also provided advice and held discussions with local farmers and livestock breeders on necessary practices to follow in their cultivation and livestock operations.
In the afternoon, at the Livestock Breeding Research Station (Shwemyo) under the Department of Livestock Research in Shwemyo Village Tract, Tatkone Township, he inspected the ongoing efforts to register the genetic data of Myanmar bee species in the World GenBank and to register beeswax and royal jelly under Myanmar's name. He also reviewed the progress in branding and exporting Bee Products of Myanmar, such as Myanmar honey and other bee-derived products including bee pollen, propolis, and bee venom, to international markets. He discussed and instructed the responsible departmental officials to collaborate with beekeeping farmers and apiculture entrepreneurs on applied research and market research activities.
Later, the Deputy Minister visited the University of Veterinary Science in Yezin, Zeyarthiri Township. He inspected the construction projects for the Livestock Training Hall, which is being built under the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Programme to provide training on technologies for processing and producing animal feed for livestock farmers.
