Inspection of healthcare: Kachin State CM visited Myitkyina General Hospital

Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, along with members of the State Government and departmental officials, visited and encouraged patients receiving medical treatment at 3-story patient ward of Myitkyina Township 500-bed General Hospital on the evening of February 26.

The Chief Minister visited and encouraged over 70 patients receiving treatment in the surgical ward of the 3-story hospital ward. He provided financial assistance to the patients. He then inquired about the healthcare services and needs from Head of the State Public Health and Medical Service Department Dr. Tint Naing, Hospital Superintendent Dr. Win Maw, specialists and officials. The Chief Minister provided 10 million Kyats to the General Hospital and 2 million Kyats to the specialist doctors and nurses as encouragement.

Following this, the Chief Minister and officials visited the Ayeyarwady Viewpoint recreation park on the banks of the Ayeyarwady River in Sitapu Ward, Myitkyina. They inspected the area for the upcoming MSME product sales festival, which will be organized by the State Government in March 2025, focusing on the placement of stalls and the detailed ground conditions for the event. They also toured the oilseed crop sunflower fields which were successfully grown on the sandbanks along the river as part of a state project.

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and party attended the demonstration event of the state representative bodybuilder who will compete in the 70kg category in Yangon for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, held at the May Kha Hall of the State Government Office. They observed and encouraged bodybuilder Maung Maung Saing's competition demonstration.

The Chief Minister then provided 1 million Kyats as encouragement to the athlete traveling to Yangon for the competition, and 500,000 Kyats each to two athletes who will be in a training camp, for a total of 1 million kyats, as well as encouragement funds for the coach.

In the morning on 27, the Chief Minister attended a presentation ceremony for the planned measures for disaster flood relief and prevention in Myitkyina District, held at the Malikha Hall of the State Government Office, along with state ministers, the state advocate general, state-level departmental officials, and officials from civil society assistance organizations.

Following the presentations and discussions, the Chief Minister provided necessary instructions for each relevant sector and coordinated to address the needs, it was reported.
