



The Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, along with the officials, visited the Wei Wang factory in Shwe Lin Pan Industrial Zone in Hlaingthaya Township on 23rd December. The factory produces soy sauce, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and factory of cans for products, as well as the Thiri Sandar garment factory and the general trading cooperative company in Insein Township, which manufactures garments.
At the Wei Wang factory, the Union Minister and party observed the daily operations, production capacity, raw material procurement, and metal can production processes. Relevant officials explained each step of the factory’s operations.
After discussing the necessary matters with the respective personals of the factory, the Union Minister provided guidance on coordinating and aligning the actions required. The Union Minister then inspected the production process of metal cans within the factory. Later, the Union Minister and officials visited the Thiri Sandar garment factory in Insein Township, which is operated by the General Trading Cooperative Company.
The factory employs over 700 workers and has a daily production capacity. Officials explained the factory's capacity to export to Japan and European countries. The Union Minister emphasized the government's plans to reduce the reliance on imports of fabrics, aiming to reduce foreign currency spending, and ensuring that necessary raw materials for garment factories, such as fabrics, are available through collaboration with the local fabric and textile factories.
He also discussed the importance of exporting goods marked "Made in Myanmar" to generate foreign income. He stressed the need for the products to meet high-quality standards and for proper inspection and quality control systems to be in place. After further discussions with the responsible officials of the factory, the Union Minister conducted a thorough inspection of the factory's garment production and packaging processes.
