








Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin visited the Myanmar Art Center (Yangon) on Min Dhamma Road, Insein Township, Yangon Region, in the morning on Sunday to inspect the construction progress. The internationally-standard Myanmar Art Center (Yangon) is a steel structure building spanning 7.41 acres (350 feet long x 250 feet wide), with two underground floors and three above-ground floors.
First, at the construction briefing hall, Managing Director of Myanmar Land and Development Limited, U Thant Zin, presented a PowerPoint overview of the progress of seven construction projects being implemented with supplementary budget funds for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Subsequently, Project Director Daw Yu Yu Naing explained the completion status of the projects.
The Union Minister and officials then inspected the construction site, where officials guided them through, two completed 30,000-gallon ground tanks, an 8-inch tube well digging, steel structure cleaning and painting work, RC wall finishing and waterproofing applications, and the overall completion status of these tasks.
Regarding the presentations, the Union Minister emphasized ensuring compliance with standards at every construction stage, using construction materials that meet specified quality benchmarks, having the Quality Control (QC) Team from the Ministry of Construction conduct rigorous inspections at each phase, submitting QC reports and maintaining compliance records, ensuring the structure can withstand earthquakes up to Richter scale 8.0.
The construction of the building began in 2015, with work commencing on March 28, 2016. Currently, Phase-1 (Skeleton Phase) including the foundation and steel pillar installation of the main building has been completed. Additionally, essential water supply and electrical wiring works have also been finished, it’s learnt.
