






Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited Factory No. 33 (Kyaukse), located in Kyaukse Industrial Zone, Mandalay Region May 6.
At the meeting hall, he met with factory managers and responsible officials from the industrial zone and delivered a speech. In his address, the Union Minister stated that due to the recent earthquake, several factories, workshops, and staff residences under the Ministry of Industry were damaged, resulting in injuries and fatalities among employees and their families.
In response, the ministry had immediately dispatched officials to the affected areas to provide moral support, distribute financial aid, and assess damages. To accelerate recovery efforts, he emphasized that factories producing construction materials are being pushed to operate at full capacity to support reconstruction.
Plans are underway to increase production at consumer goods and pharmaceutical factories. He urged all staff members to perform their duties responsibly and to serve as exemplary civil servants by adhering to principles of discipline, loyalty, and ethics.
He also listened to reports and concerns from factory managers and offered coordinated solutions. The Union Minister then inspected Factory No. 33 (Kyaukse) which is a joint operation between the Ministry of Industry and Myanmar Conch Cement Co., Ltd. to review the ongoing repairs of machinery and buildings damaged by the earthquake. He provided further guidance where necessary.
After that, he visited the Myanma Than Taw Myat Company Ltd.’s Two Rhinos Cement Factory to examine damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake, each stage of the cement production process, ongoing quality control through laboratory testing and preparations for distribution and marketing of the produced cement. He offered encouragement, reviewed their readiness, issued guidance, and coordinated solutions based on reports provided.
