






Union Minister for Sports U Ye Myint Tun, along with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Aye Kyaw, Ayeyawady Region Hluttaw Speaker U Thein Tun, and responsible officials, met cordially with the staff of the Ayeyawady Region Department of Sports and Physical Education Tuesday morning.
They delivered a speech and then inspected the progress of activities under the Football For School Program, conducted in accordance with the guidance from the President's speech within Ayeyawady Region, as well as the site designated for the construction of an indoor sports hall.
First, Union Minister U Ye Myint Tun met cordially with the officers and staff of the Ayeyawady Region Department of Sports and Physical Education at the meeting hall of the Koe Thein Sports Ground in Pathein, delivered a speech, and addressed the requests submitted by the staff. Subsequently, the Union Minister, together with the Region Chief Minister, the Region Hluttaw Speaker, and the Director General of the Department of Sports and Physical Education, inspected various activities at the Koe Thein Sports Ground including the football training course where six coaches were teaching football techniques to 120 trainees, the training sessions conducted by three athletics coaches teaching 30 athletes (including 100m relay, high jump for both men and women, and men's walking events), demonstration activities at the advanced swimming pool involving six coaches and 50 swimmers, the site for the construction of a multipurpose indoor sports hall with a capacity of 2,500 spectators, measuring 120 feet in length and 90 feet in width and the ongoing construction work at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Pathein).
Following the inspections, the Union Minister urged responsible officials to discover and develop a new generation of athletes by organizing sports competitions, it’s reported.
