Venezuelan inflation soared to 475% in 2025 which becomes the highest in the world. The inflation was caused by the tightening of US sanctions against ousted President Nicolás Maduro. Full-year inflation far exceeded the International Monetary Fund's forecast of 269.9%, figures released by Venezuelan central bank. Accumulated inflation for the first two months of 2026 stood at nearly 52%, the bank said.
